Terms of service

Last updated November 3, 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and John McLaughlin LLC ("Coffered", "we") for the use of the Coffered website and app. By using Coffered you agree to them.

Accounts

  • A studio account is opened by its owner, who is responsible for the studio's members and their use of Coffered.
  • Clients use Coffered by invitation from a studio. Client accounts are free.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

Plans

Studio plans, their limits and prices are listed on the pricing page. Each plan includes a set number of designer seats and active design centers; archived projects do not count against those limits.

Your content

You keep ownership of the models, plans, photos, prices and other content you upload. You give us permission to store, convert, display and send that content only as needed to provide Coffered to you and to the people you invite. You confirm that you have the right to upload it.

Design centers are not construction documents

A design center shows finishes in a 3D model so a client can choose. Colors, lighting and scale on screen are approximations. The plans, specifications and contracts between a studio, its client and its contractors govern what gets built and what it costs.

Acceptable use

  • Do not upload files you do not have the right to share, or files that contain malware.
  • Do not try to access projects, accounts or data you were not invited to.
  • Do not interfere with the service, test its security without our written permission, or resell it.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Cancellation and your data

A studio can cancel at any time. After cancellation we offer an export of the studio's data and delete it 90 days later.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Coffered available and secure, but it is provided as is, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features; when a change materially affects a paid plan, we will tell account owners before it takes effect.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, Coffered is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these terms
